We say creative, we mean dishonest.
Giacom like to hide behind their master agreement when it suits them. When it puts them in a position of perceived power.
They don’t like it and nearly always ignore it when the obligation is on them.
Price changes are common in the industry but it is how they stiff the partner that matters. They claim they only increase pricing to match wholesale increases but often the increases are greater than.
Their agreement also says they’ll only do so when those wholesale costs increase but Giacom, being the crafty sort they are, attempted to pass on an increase in a certain suppliers product, even though that supplier had no such increase.
Someone at Giacom made it clear they were doing so in effort to force people away from that particular supplier. Partners didn’t know the agreement allowed for this, simply, because it didn’t.
They quickly back peddled on this which might have been the first time they’ve complied with their own agreement because hell, we all know they pick and chose to the partners detriment when they do.
But it shows you with the greater-than-supplier increases of which they pocket, they will try and get through increases that they’ve not had. It shows they’re underhand and entirely dishonest, not what you need in a partner.
